We always love to get progress reports from our youngsters. Skipper (Glass of Diamon x Skip's Chicka Dottie) is one of our superstars!  Kelli Brock and Skipper have been showing in Georgia open and 4-H shows in halter, showmanship, trail and pleasure classes and have been doing great, Skipper is currently with a Western Pleasure trainer and Kelli will be taking him to AQHA shows this spring.  Good Luck and Best Wishes to a winning pair!

April 2006 Ranch Horse Show

On April 22, we attended an ARHA Ranch Horse Show in Chatsworth, Ga at the Murray County Saddle Club Arena.  We took Kings Diamond Lilly and showed her in Ranch Horse Conformation and Ranch Riding (similar to Western Pleasure)

She got a second place in the conformation class and performed well in the ranch riding but did not place.  We were very pleased with her performance and she handles the arena and show atmosphere like a trooper.

King's Diamond Lilly http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/kings+diamond+lilly A 2003, line bred Easter Gentleman mare that is a grandaughter of Sheza Diamond Step (a half-sister of Diamond Sparkles by Mr. Diamond Dude ) and Indio 86 King (a full brother to the great Hollywood Jac 86).  Lilly has had 4 months of reining training, we plan to ride and show her this spring and use her for a broodmare in the future.

We took Doc to his first ARHA (American Ranch Horse Association) show May 28, 2005.  We entered him in the yearling stallion conformation class and the yearling trail in hand class and came away with two blue ribbons.  Conformation is self explanatory, trail in hand competition requires the handler lead the horse through a required pattern.  This pattern included trotting in, standing quietly, backing up, a 360 degree turn around, crossing poles and a plywood bridge. Gary and Doc completed the course without any major problems.  Doc seems to enjoy performing and the attention, he also took the noise and commotion like an old pro, great qualities that we expect he will pass along to future offspring!
